Firewood delivery service
Installation at one customer Installation at another Delivering a full repacement box Installation at a third . . . and another Two boxes before the roof has been added Some of the firewood stacks being dried for the 2008-2009 season | This novel delivery service enables customers to enjoy the pleasure of a wood fire without the effort of finding the next supply of logs or moving, stacking and often splitting the logs when they arrive. This service delivers logs in special boxes. Each customer is provided with two boxes and a covering roof which makes the whole look like a log store. When one box has been emptied, we bring a full replacement and take the empty box away. The store can be located wherever is convenient for the customer (as long as there is a suitable route for delivery). Often, this is by the back door but some have chosen to have it by the front door, in the garage or down the side alley. Customers are initially supplied with two boxes full of logs, together with a roof to make up a complete log store. The logs are all cut to a nominal 25cm (10”) length, which we have found suits most stoves and fireplaces. Every customer has the opportunity to take delivery of a full box once a fortnight. We have found that this ensures that customers always have a ready supply of fuel available. Some customers seem to take a box most fortnights while others take a box only occasionally. We provide an assurance that a supply of logs is available throughout the winter from the beginning of October until the end of March and that all logs are well seasoned. The area we supply includes West Shropshire and North Powys within 20 miles of Llanfyllin. We offer a free survey to check that the site you have chosen is practical for our delivery. There is a £50 annual subscription that is payable on the first delivery of each season. This is refunded if, within eight weeks, you find that the service does not fit your circumstances. Each full box delivered costs £31.50 including delivery and VAT. Each box is filled with two stacks of 25cm (10”) logs, one stack in front of the other. Each box holds a stack volume of approximately 0.3 cubic metres. |
